We work with teachers across the UK and Islamic World to provide them with classroom resources and professional development and opportunities for their students.

Welcome to the education resource bank

We are producing a series of resources based on the expeditions. These will appear below as they are developed and registered users will be kept informed by email.

Journey to the UK 2011

For Offscreen’s most recent expedition bringing 10 young Saudi artists to the UK to work with creative industries and gain key skills, five films will be made documenting their creative and cultural journey. Each of these mini-documentaries focuses on themes important to arts and educational contexts in order to promote cultural understanding and creative expression.
These films will exemplify young people and industries from Saudi and the UK learning from each other, in order to explore why creativity is important to society, both socially through positively influencing negative stereotypes and economically.
Exploring comparatives between Saudi Arabia and the UK through the eyes of young people, these films are especially useful for use in schools and universities, tying in with a number of curriculum/module themes as well as sharing a wider and deeper view of Saudi Arabia. These films promote Offscreen’s goal of peer-to-peer education and the importance of face-to-face communication in order to understand differing perspectives and create a deeper understanding between the UK and Islamic world.

The films will be available here for free download in August 2011.
