I am from Southampton, but now live in Cardiff after graduating from Newport Film School where I was studying for a degree in Documentary Film and Television. I have always had a fascination in film and have studied it through school, college and university. It was 3rd year of university that I felt I really found my feet though. I have won several awards for my film Eighty Eight, including Best Student Doc Award at Sheffield International Documentary Film Festival 2011, and a £20,000 prize package from Panavision for a future project. This film, along with my latest Mostar, has also been nominated for Best UK Graduate Documentary 2012.
My film partner and I are now in the process of starting our own production company Next Door Films. We have a lot planned for the new year, and hope we can build on 2011. I love traveling and exploring new cultures, I want to be able to combine this with filmmaking by traveling the world making films about interesting people in amazing locations. That is my passion and my dream. If I can secure that as a full time job then I will be very happy.
Arabia Offscreen was truly an amazing and life changing experience. Saudi Arabia is a misunderstood country and I am so grateful for the opportunity we were given to explore the regions and meet some fascinating people. I learnt so much in our time there, and shared it with a group of very special individuals from all types of backgrounds.
We created a real bond on the expedition, and were all very inspired by our trip, so much so that I have returned to Jeddah to shoot my latest documentary about the emerging creative scene.
