Her latest work involves exploring new areas of design where she translates Arabic calligraphy into expressive forms that has resulted in a series of lyrical Islamic artworks. Lujain is currently working on WTD Magazine, a new architecture and design magazine scheduled to launch during Design Days Dubai 2012.
Of the Arabia Offscreen expedition, she says: “Exploring the rich heritage of the kingdom during this expedition was truly eye opening. I admit as a Saudi living most of my life abroad, I didn’t know much about the fruitful history my home country had to offer. This experience has definitely sparked a fire inside me and I know that this is not the end, but merely the beginning. It has inspired me to do artwork addressing this issue. I am also determined to dedicate a whole issue in my upcoming magazine, WTD, about reviving and preserving old sites.”
