SQUINT/OPERA

Squint opera

This successful place is an example of how dreams can be possible the way they've turned an old building into a creative work space with offices that spreads its creative intelligence to the world without any limits.

if someone would ask me to define the word "success" id say SQUINT OPERA!

What Does It Take To Run a Successful Creative Company?

Meating with Squint Opera was a great experience and its some place similar to it where i can see my self working in. a really cool industrial building with the river by you(though it was stinky lol). a place where its literally bult in a way that you can doodle all over the walls

and so meny different creative groups working in the same building

Brain storming with Squint Opera was a great i learned a lot from that. Very perfessional and very cool.

Squinting

A meet-up with creative heads of Squint Opera. They took us on a tour of their world and shared everything - we learned so much. I loved the animation house especially.

Day 2: Whose Future Vision?

At Sqint Opera: The young Saudi artists were shown a promotional video showing a future vision for Jeddah's old town. The video was made entirely in the UK by a group of talented designers and creatives who had never been to Saudi. They had even used green screens and shot people dressed in Saudi clothes to get realistic people in the video. Our group had a mixed reaction. For sure they were impressed and were so happy that the future vision of Jeddah looked to respect and revitalise the currently run down old town ... but they were also sad that this kind of future vision was not being developed by Saudi creatives and with the consultation of Saudi communities.

The team split into groups and work with Squint professionals, each taking on an element of exhibition design, and look ahead to the rest of the journey.
